Tangalle beach

Tangalle is located in South East end of Sri Lanka which is the farthest beach in this region and it’s 4 hours’ drive from Colombo. Tangalle is a small isolated fishing village therefore it serves as the perfect retreat for relaxing away from the hustle of the city. Hence the beaches are not packed with a whole lot of tourists unlike other beaches in Sri Lanka. Tangalle is a calm and quiet beachside town that you could easily base yourself in for weeks.

 

 

 

The specialty in Tangalla beaches is the white sandy beach that stretches out as long as your eyes can see. With soft turquoise water, palm trees, and a long stretch of white soft sand it becomes a tropical paradise to any of us. The sunsets are breathtaking and it’s the best time to take a picture in beach if you are photo lover. But the swimming in Tangalle might be dangerous and it is not the perfect place for swimming with rough waves, tides and currents. There are few places in Tangalle for swimming such as the small bay which is sheltered by reefs.
